DEIZ creates outdoor saunas as architectural wooden objects rather than conventional garden buildings. CLT stands for Cross-Laminated Timber. It is a solid timber panel made from layers of wood arranged in alternating directions, creating a rigid and geometrically stable structure. In a DEIZ sauna, the CLT panel forms the main structure and can also remain visible as the finished timber surface, creating a clean and solid architectural interior.
DEIZ produces its CLT panels specifically for sauna construction and visible timber surfaces. In addition to bonding between the timber layers, the lamellas are also bonded along their edges. Narrower lamellas of approximately 50 mm and carefully selected visible faces help create a cleaner, more continuous wooden surface.
The main difference is the construction. A barrel sauna is formed from individual boards, while a typical frame sauna uses a structural frame with insulation and interior or exterior cladding. DEIZ uses solid CLT panels as the main structure, allowing the sauna to have a rectangular architectural form and a more continuous visible timber surface.
The standard DEIZ concept is based on a solid CLT structure with visible timber surfaces. Additional insulation can be incorporated when required by the project, climate, intended use or specific client requirements. The final wall and roof build-up should always be defined for the individual sauna configuration.
Wood is a natural material and reacts to moisture, sunlight and temperature changes. The sauna should be ventilated after use, excess moisture should be allowed to dry, and exterior surfaces should be inspected and maintained according to the selected finish. Dark facade colours can heat more strongly in direct sunlight, so the choice of colour and coating should also be considered as part of long-term maintenance.
Yes. DEIZ has standard models, but the project can be adapted in size, layout, glazing, doors, heater, facade colour and interior or exterior finish. Options can include a terrace, anteroom, shower area or other changes where they are technically suitable for the project.
DEIZ offers two delivery formats. Where site access allows, the sauna can be delivered as a fully assembled module for maximum factory preparation and fast installation. For locations where a completed module cannot be brought in by truck or crane, DEIZ can prepare a DIY kit for assembly on site.
The final price depends on the model, size, layout, glazing, doors, heater, finish, additional options and delivery requirements. Site access can also affect the delivery and installation solution. Standard models provide a starting point, while customized projects are calculated according to the selected configuration.
A DEIZ sauna requires a level and stable base prepared before installation. For fully assembled delivery, access for the truck, crane or manipulator should be checked in advance, including gates, trees, overhead cables and ground conditions. Exact foundation and access requirements depend on the model and installation site.
Most DEIZ configurations with an electric sauna heater require a suitable three-phase electrical connection. The exact power requirement, cable specification, protection and connection method depend on the selected heater and must be confirmed for the individual project and local electrical requirements.
